MY HONEST THOUGHTS ON FAT FREEZING!

Being in the beauty industry I've seen my fair share of gimmicky treatments aimed to suck your $$ and capitalise on your insecurities.... But fat freezing is something I've done on and off, and here's my honest thoughts on it and how it works!

🥶 How does it work?

Actual name for fat freezing is actually Cryolipolysis, and it works by using sub zero temperatures to freeze the treated area - aka freezing the fat cells!

Fat cells are easily susceptible to damage through heat or cold temperatures so fat treatments like RF, Emshape, or other tcm treatments like guasha, baguan or moxibustion aimed at fat reduction use heat! And fat freezing uses the cold obviously.

Due to the cold, fat cells actually die off, and will be passed through your lymphatic drainage system - aka you will pee or sweat the fat cells out.

Fat freezing is known to be a PERMANENT fat reduction program!

🥶Is it permanent?

Yes! but that doesn't mean you just anyhow eat and don't exercise la ok!! you're encourage to lead a healthy lifestyle regardless.

🥶I'm xx kg, am i suitable for this?

Fat freezing is a targeted fat loss reduction program, and NOT a weight loss program! so this treatment is suitable for individuals close to their ideal weight and body type - just that there are areas of the body they want to spot reduce fat. So for example I'm 50kg, and I'm ok with my weight and body type! just hate that my lower belly sometimes protrude out, so I use fat freezing to target it!

🥶How soon can I see results?

The results heavily depend on how fast the fat cells are drained from your body, based on Google i've seen that you could see it as soon as 1 month and it takes up to 90 days.

🥶Is it painful?

For me it wasn't! But some people i know they do experience some discomfort if they are sensitive to the cold. It felt kinda numb after the first 10 mins!

❄️ My experience at Refresh TCM Wellness!

- First off the bat I was impressed that the therapist used a tool to measure the amount of excess fat on my lower belly - this is done so she can use the correct size hand piece for my lower belly.

- There was a call button beside the bed so i could reach them easily!

- How are they different from other aesthetic or beauty clinics is the incorporation of TCM! She told me that from my body type she knew that I was an office worker, and I liked to lie down or sit down immediately after a meal, and I don't drink enough water. She advised me on foods to avoid and eat to reduce the lower belly protrusion, and also advised me to drink more water so i could see faster results (the more water you drink = more often it drains = more fat cells expelled)

- Massage to help with the drainage and to reduce redness! Because fat freezing uses a suction to suck up the excess fat, and freeze it using metal plates within the hand piece, there will be redness! Usually aesthetic clinics just let you leave after the treatment but I was pleasantly surprised to receive a massage! This helps to reduce the numbing feeling after treatment, and also to reduce redness!

Anyway! after the treatment I've been drinking more water and I've seen some results - like for eg I do feel that my lower belly feels less flabby and bloated!
