Unluckily for me, I lost my earbuds recently.

Luckily for me, that meant I could finally get a new pair!

And so the search began for a new pair of headphones, and I eventually landed on these!

Here’s what I like about them!

🎧Active Noise Cancellation

AMAZING. But. Okay let’s be real - they’re not as good as the AirPods Pro. But to be fair, they’re also half the price! The active noise cancellation really cuts out white noise extremely well, though the software lets in abrupt noises like knocking, people talking loudly, which I guess might be by design. Either way, once you start playing music you really can’t hear any noise at all. I got a rude shock when I took out my earbuds while at the MRT station and realised how loud the world actually was around me!

🔋Long Battery Life

The earbuds can last for 7 hours outside its case, and the case adds another 28 hours which is more than enough for long-haul flight! It’s been four days and I have not needed to charge the case yet!

🪶Lightweight

The reason why anyone would pick earbuds over a more traditional “stick” design like the AirPods is because you want them to be light and discreet, and the JBL earbuds excel at this- I barely felt them in my ears at all, and they were really comfortable to wear.

📱JBL Headphones App

If you don’t like the default sound profile, you can change it to your liking using the JBL headphones app! It also allows you to tweak the touch gestures on each earbud, and change other settings.

What I don’t like:

The touchpad of the headphones can be a little oversensitive, which can be activated accidentally.

When you connect the earbuds to more than one device, it takes some time to switch between two devices.

Not officially available in Singapore yet so no aftermarket service.

My verdict:

There really isn’t much to not like about this and I’ve been really satisfied with my purchase so far. If you’re looking for an alternative to the AirPods Pro, at half the price, these are a no-brainer to recommend!
