Tips | How To Avoid Scammers 🆘

Hihi everyone! 🤍 Important issues that I want to share with you today‼️My family member got scammed this week, thus I hope to advice you on what should not be done to avoid chance of getting scammed in the future ⛔️

First, I would like to share a true story based experience on what happened to my sister this week. She received a pos laju call saying that somebody use her details to send an item from Penang to Sarawak 📦 However, we’re not either Penang or Sarawak person, we’re from Kuala Lumpur ☎️ Usually, my sister would hang up the call if she feels something is not right, but she continues listening to what the person say this time, thus I assume that she may be bewitched by the person 🔮 as she told us that she was aware that it was a scam call but she just did not hang up the call 📞

This call then switched the line to Balai Polis, which is totally impossible to do so 👮🏻‍♂️ and ask for my sister’s identity card number, house address and total amount of the bank 🏦 They also told my sister not to tell anyone about this and threaten her that if she doesn’t cooperate they’ll send them to the prison 🚨 Fortunately, my sister tells my mom about the incident on time and get to stop all the bank cards and transactions immediately 💳

To avoid anything like this happen in the future:

1️⃣ Please use secure websites when providing sensitive information

2️⃣ Please be aware of phishing, do not click on any links unless it’s a valid website

3️⃣ Do not share your personal information over the phone or online

4️⃣ Please ignore pressure tactics and communicate with your parents, any adults or family member immediately

5️⃣ Please use reputable platforms with built-in protections when buying or selling items

6️⃣ Please educate yourself about the latest scam tactics to recognize warning signs

7️⃣ Please trust your instincts sometimes
