How to get rid of fungus gnats

Now that we are in the colder months, that’s when pest starts to come specially gnats. Let me share the products I like to prevent and get rid of the gnats.

First let me tell you what are gnats. Gnats are tiny flying insects that come out of the soil when you over water your plants and the soil is not well drainage so it stays wet longer.

Sticky traps: this it’s my prefer method to catch the gnats, they are attracted to the bright color and they stick in the paper. These are so easy to use you just stick it inside the pot.

Mosquito bits: these bits controls fungus gnats larvae, in the picture I posted I just applied them on top of the soil. I did that so you guys can see how the bits look. You can still applied them that way, you will just need to mix it in with the soil. But how I used them it’s I placed them in a can with water let it sit for a couple of hours or a day and then water my plants.

Cokit Trap: This is a new item that i’m trying, it catches the gnats by suction, it has a fan and a bug light that attracts them. in the bottom there it’s a sticky trap where they stay.
