Visited Tasmania last year and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there! The reason why I call it budget New Zealand is because the flights there are cheaper. I will break down the costs of flights from Singapore , car rental and accoms at the end.

Hereโ€™s where what you can do there (we did not go all because we were only there for a week):

We flew in to Launceston and flew out from Hobart to Melbourne.

- Bridestowe Lavender farm

- Binalong Bay (Bay of fires)

- Little Blue Lake

- Cataract George Reserve

- Marakoopa cave

- Tamar Valley (Lowhead penguin tour)

- Cradle Mountain (did the Dove Lake walk trail: 2h loop trail)- where we saw Wombats and other wildlife too

- Devils @ Cradle (Tasmanian Devils!)

- Day trip to Bruny Island (get the freshest oysters there and take a 3h boat cruise to see dolphins, sea lions, penguins, and possibly whales!)

- Maria Island (where you can see more wombats up close)

- Mount Wellington Oatlands

- Honeymoon bay

๐Ÿ’ฐNow for the costs:

Disclaimer: We went in mid December which was relatively more expensive, but going in other months should be cheaper!

๐Ÿš—7 Day car rental- $2100 (Kia Carnival)

โœˆ๏ธ Flights:

Sg>Melbourne via scoot (+checkin, +extra legroom): $1142/person

Melbourne>Launceston + Hobart>Melbourne via Qantas, with checkin: $352/person

๐Ÿ Accoms: (my family doesnโ€™t like to change accoms so often, so we stayed in mainly 3 different places and travelled out everyday)

Launceston for 2 nights: $388

Cradle Mountain for 2 nights: $874

Hobart for 3 nights: $1100

7 nights: $2363/5 people

Lastly, I would totally recommend visiting during the summer! We went there during the summer (mid Dec) and the weather was perfect! It ranged from 10-20+ deg. 10 deg was in Cradle mountain, but the rest of Tasmania was also relatively cooling! ๐Ÿ’จ

My family really enjoyed Tasmania for its views & activities and Iโ€™m sure you would too!
