Avo toast has been a trendy feat in the past few years & ive definitely had my fill of it. Over the years, I found simple ways of making it that much better. I know how daunting it is for some to start trying new things & cooking can be one of them. I wish someone broke down even the simplest of recipes for me so I could have the courage to start, so as simple a recipe as this is, I hope it helps someone!
Ingredients:
🍞 1 white bread
🧈 1/2 teaspoon butter
🧂 Salt & pepper to taste
🥑 1/2 an avocado
Steps & Tips:
1. Toast your bread till golden brown
2. Let your butter slightly soften & lather if on your toast evenly
3. Start by cutting your avocado in half, then using a knife to trace its shape & scoop the avo out.
💡 TIP: How do I know my avo is ripe? It should be slightly darker in colour & soft (note: brown & mushy means your avo has gone bad)
💡 TIP: if you’re using the side of the avo with the seed, PIT it by stabbing your knife into the seed & twisting. If not, just scoop the ‘meat’ around it.
4. Season with salt & pepper - A personal game changer.
💡 TIP: Use maldon salt for a crisp & crunch texture
5. Use a fork & mash the avo
💡 TIP: steps 4 & 5 are interchangeable
6. Spread your avo on toast & enjoy
💡 TIP: Sometimes I enjoy my avo toast with a fried egg on top & even some hot sauce/ honey.
