My BF and I do (almost) quarterly visits to JB, usually 2D1N, and I compiled a list of everything we've eaten and done there, as well as the hotels we stayed at!

We've tried several cafes and I've written a couple of posts on them. Read about my favourite cafe here and more in-depth cafes review with prices here.

Most activities, or every activity really, are much cheaper in JB than SG, so we always try and utilise our trips here with new activities to do. They make for great date ideas too!

๐Ÿ” LOST in JB

My ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE activity in JB and I simply can't get enough of it. They have 3 outlets - Sutera, Eco Palladium and Eco Galleria. I've only been to the last two as Sutera only has horror-themed rooms which are NOT FOR ME.

Prices range from RM58-108/ pax depending on the rooms. Difficulty levels are indicated and most rooms can accommodate 2-8 players.

My BF and I have played 3 rooms - Magic School (Eco Palladium), Bajie (Eco Palladium) and Ninja (Eco Galleria), which were all insanely good. The live actors were very convincing and enthusiastic, and the puzzles were clever and engaging while not being impossible to solve. Definitely going back to try all their non-horror rooms.

๐ŸŽ RUD Karting

Tried this outdoor go-kart with my friends. You can choose the amount of rounds you want and the speed level. Prices start at RM55 for 1 round.

We had to purchase balaclavas for hygiene reasons when wearing the helmet, and us girls had to tie up our hair and wear an extra hoodie to contain our hair too. It was super fun to navigate the bends and pull out our driving/racing skills. The only part I didn't enjoy was the heat, both from the scorching sun and the engine of the karts, but it can't be helped.

Will recommend heading down as it's a perfect group activity with friends!

๐ŸบRed Earth Studio

Have always wanted to try a pottery class but IT'S SO EXPENSIVE IN SG. Granted, the prices in JB aren't significantly cheaper, but it seemed to offer more bang for your buck. We decided to try out this studio we saw on social media. We booked through whatsapp and it was a seamless process.

They have 2 packages: RM180/pax for 2 artworks fired and glazed (1.5hr), or RM225/pax for 2 artworks painted, glazed and fired + dessert (2-3hrs). We chose the latter, more expensive package and have 0 regrets.

The instructor was very friendly, funny and patient, and helped us the entire duration. We had a brownie and tiramisu cake for dessert, which was a much-needed tea break after more than 3hrs of effort hehe.

We could only collect our pieces after around a month since they had to fire them (perfect excuse for yet another JB trip amirite).

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Johor Premium Outlets

We mostly visited the sports shops, like Adidas and New Balance, and the prices were not crazy cheap like other countries' outlets. I did get a pair of running shoes for SGD40 from Adidas, so that's a steal. It takes around 40-50mins by car from central JB, so I would only recommend visiting if you have something in mind to browse for.

๐Ÿ› Shopping

Our last stop is usually Mid Valley Southkey, where we drop by Watsons to pick up some essentials. Please recommend more shops to visit/ things to do in malls :")

๐‡๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฌ

After a full-packed day of eating, shopping and playing, we all need a place to recharge. We stayed 1 night in the following hotels on our trips.

๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒCapri by Fraser, Johor Bahru

Hands down our favourite place to stay, though it's more pricey than the rest. We did get a good deal though, so we only paid SGD90+ for a studio executive king room. It was really spacious for 2 pax, at around 46m^2. There was a dining table and a huge bathroom, which are always plus points for me. The room was immaculate and service was outstanding. 100% will stay again if we can score a good deal.

๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒShama Suasana Johor Bahru

Another hotel with a huge room, even bigger actually! The room had a living area, kitchen space equipped with a microwave, fridge, kitchenware and dining table, and a separate bedroom! Bonus points for having my favourite cafe right next door too ;)

๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒZ Hotel

The entrance was a bit confusing to find (I think it's just me) but the lobby was welcoming. The room and service were decent, which made it very worth it.

๐Ÿ’ฒFives Hotel Meldrum

Similar price tag to Z Hotel. Another no-frills hotel that won't break the bank!

Already looking forward to more JB trips. Next stop will be KL! Please share any JB or KL recs with me <3
