Crochet a weighted blanket with just your hands

A favorite project of mine (that my dogs have since stolen) was hand crocheting a chunky weighted blanket.

This reminds me so much of the target and home goods chunky blankets that are super popular for home decor. I loved having this one either at the end of my bed or end of my couch for an added bit of style.

Here’s all you need to make your own:

- you’ll want a VERY chunky and heavy yarn. I used Lion Brand’s yooge yarn but any gigantic yarn will work

- you’ll need some scissors to cut any unwanted ends

- you’ll use your hand or finger as a crochet hook

My best tip for this is to use single crochet stitch. You just need to have a starting chain that’ll determine the width of your blanket, then single crochet each row until you have a height you’re comfortable with. When you’re done, just tie a knot to secure and weave in any extra ends from your knot.
