THIS POPULAR CAFE AT JB IS OVERHYPED 😱😱

recently went to jb with my friends and we had the chance to try out this popular cafe, Eden by Wizards

the cafe was so aesthetic it felt like i was in a garden! dining area was in a glasshouse and the lighting was pretty good~ ambience was great, toilet was really clean and staff were friendly! however our experience with the food was rather disappointing…

here’s what we ordered:

— wild mushroom soup 🍄

this was really yummy with generous bits of mushroom! bread on the side was tasty too, it lightly toasted and really soft

— truffle fries 🍟

a classic yet this was my favourite dish 😋 it tasted really flavourful but then again, what can go wrong with truffle fries?

— beef pappardelle 🥩 (not pictured)

quite flavourful compared to the other mains we got. however we felt like it tasted like a fusion of hor fun and the kind of braised beef noodle soup you can get at chinese restaurants 😬 this dish was not really to our liking but beef portions were pretty generous 🆙

— ocean trout mentaiko pasta 🍝

most disappointing dish imo… (or maybe bc i had really high expectations) expected the dish to be on the creamier and more flavourful side but it turned out really bland ☹️ the only saving grace was the bits of salmon, those were pretty good… otherwise, i would not recommend this dish

— fish and chips 🐟

this was meh, it’s a skip for me too. the batter was pretty much tasteless and slightly soggy 🥲

overall, food was disappointing and it was on the pricier side, hence i would not visit this cafe again 😐😐
