Reno things to look out for! (Part 1)

We reached the end of week 1 and ongoing to week 2 from today! Here to share some insights as I’m also learning through the Reno journey myself!

✅ Cement base for the kitchen sink! (Cover page)

This is an alternative to the traditional carpentry base which will become mouldy after many years of water leakage and usage of the sink itself.

The workers put their bags on top of it after it’s dried 😂.. this is to protect your carpentry if your kitchen is wet. They will tile the base with your kitchen floor tiles. Also able to create a recessed toe area. I think the alternative is also a carpentry base which most people do.. same logic as the kitchen sink cement base.. will become mouldy

✅ I’m quite impressed with my tiler! As my tiles are not homogeneous, it is actually a skill to mix & match which tile against which! But I’m impressed as he tried to match them together by the stains & colour tone to make it seem so seamless! 💯 (2nd pic & 5th-7th pic)

✅ The grout lines are also aligned! From the floor to the skirting and cement base~

Side note: 📝

1️⃣ My blanco kitchen white sink arrived! Looking so pretty! 😍

We will do a top-mounted sink.. (a lot will say there will be stain on the sides) but do you know? Under-mounted sink cannot be changed at all. But if you want to change in the future, a top-mounted sink can be changed, just need to have the same size. 📏

2️⃣ The toilet was being waterproofed by this “blue paint” which is so interesting? 🤨

3️⃣ My wall hung toilet (plumbing) is also done! Some dispenser has inlet & outlet .. we will choose a dispenser with only an inlet and then ask plumber to run it from the sink area a bit to the left.. (we will put the dispenser not far off from the sink).. didn’t know this! Our contractor told me something new again! 💦

4️⃣(Last pic) bidet can choose left side or right side. Buttons can choose top flush or front flush depending on the model of the bracket. 👉
