Super good beef hor fun you have to try!! 😋

Alexandra Village Food Centre is a small scale hawker located at Bukit Merah. Although there isn't much stalls open on a Sunday evening, there's still enough to get a decent variety for your dinner spread. 🍲🍛🥘

One of the popular stalls here with a constant queue but fret not because the queue moves fast. Got a plate of their signature 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐧 ($𝟓.𝟓) and understood why the queue. The springy wide rice noodles was slightly charred, boosting a faint wokhey along with generously slices of beef that's surprisingly tender. I really enjoyed the gravy as well which was flavoursome and has a silky consistency that's not overly thick or sticky.

Not much people in queue and we ordered before 6pm which was before the peak dinner hour only to get our 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐰 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞 ($𝟓) 50 mins later ... the staff was also reluctant to inform us about the waiting time despite rounds of going back and forth to check if our order is ready. Not sure what to feel about the presentation but thankfully it's considerably yummy. The chicken chunks were fried to perfection. Very crispy and tender and generously coated with creamy salted egg sauce. It was rather spicy as well thanks to the chilli padi. Overall, one of the tastier creamy salted egg chicken rice but definitely not worth the wait.

💬 TLDR: Small but sufficient hawker with several famous stalls like the claypot rice and claypot laksa that we have yet to try. But for now, would recommend the beef hor fun!! And maybe the creamy salted fragrant chicken rice but order at your own risk because of the unknown waiting time.
