$6.8 Taiwanese Lu Rou Fan w Popcorn Chicken!! 😍😋

Opened in 1975 to accomodate resettled hawkers from Jalan Sultan, Golden Mile Food Centre offers quite a good selection of delicacies beyond its history. 🍜🍛🍚

There's a constant queue for this so it must be good right? The Braised Pork Rice Set ($6.8) comprises of braised pork rice, 1/3 portion of popcorn chicken, soft and chilled cucumber salad. The bowl was packed full of rice but not so much of the braised pork. Nonetheless, the braised pork was flavourful and savoury with a good amount of fats. The egg has a slightly lava-ish center, something like your onsen egg and the cucumber helps to cut through the heaviness. Also, be warned the chilli padi is really spicy. The popcorn chicken was crispy and has the same seasoning as Taiwanese salted egg chicken.

The Hokkien Mee ($5) has a visibly higher beehoon-mee ratio than normal but I quite liked it as you get to enjoy the contrasting texture. Though there's a lack of wokhey, it's still flavourful and yummy with two succulent prawns. Mix in the chilli for extra savouriness and spice.

💬 TLDR: Both stalls were yummy and worth a try but nothing wow-ing.
