1st Niangao Waffle in SG 🧇😍

Forget about mochi waffles, have you had niaogao (chinese rice cake) waffles? 🧇

Located right beside NEX, @thebetterscoop with a clean, minimalist Scandinavian-style interior offers a novice incorporation into your beloved waffles - nian gao.

Of course we had to give it a try and ordered the 𝐍𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞 ($𝟔.𝟖) with a scoop of 𝐁𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 ($𝟒.𝟕). The buttermilk waffle was fragrant with a crisp, dense yet fluffy texture. Every bite of the waffle envelops a constrasting, chewy and sweetish piece of niangao. As for the ice cream, the incorporation of bailey cuts through the milkiness of the vanilla refreshingly with a mild bitter aftertaste. It's not too bad but im just not a fan of alcohol in general.

💬 TLDR: Personally liked their niangao waffles more than the usual mochi waffles though the ice cream flavour we picked wasn't spectacular.
