dont waste ur money on this viral mascara…

after scrolling through so many tiktoks raving about it, i finally gave in n tried the rare beauty mascara! unfortunately, here’s why it’s #NotForMe :(

❤️ VOLUME

the product does volumize, and is very good for asian lashes! however, i don’t feel it’s particularly better than any japanese or korean drugstore formulation… lots of cheaper asian mascaras perform just as well if not better

❤️ TEXTURE

i tried it the day i bought it and found that it was a little bit clumpy at the end of the applicator - i had to take it off and reapply it because of the clumps at the start 😭

❤️ APPLICATOR

the applicator was pretty good, i liked that it was large and the bristles were just dense enough! it made the application super efficient 👍

overall, i do like the mascara but feel that there are a lot of similar options for a fraction of the price… nothing very special about it imo - don’t waste your $33!!!

i feel that asian formulations are really super effective at lifting and volumizing even the sparsest of lashes! here are some of my favourites:

Shiseido Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Edge Meister ($17)

Kiss Me Heroine Mascara ($8)

Boots 17 Ultimate Lasting Definition Mascara ($8)

Alternatively, it’s quite fun to trial & error with drugstore brands - you’d be surprised at the quality!!
