I Started Taking Antidepressants

UPDATE: it’s 2 months in and I regret nothing

Yesterday I told my friend I’m going to live until I can’t. She said “I think those pills are working.”

There’s so much stigma around antidepressants and mental health but the truth is I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t ask for help. This past year I chose to be honest not just with the people around me but with myself. I chose not to do this by myself. I chose not to suffer in silence, not to romanticize struggle and to know my worth (even when I don’t believe it all the time). I’m not healed. I believe that will take a lifetime but I think I’m making a good and honest start ❤️

I know you’ve heard the “you’re not alone” speech. I know it could just sound like words and for many, you are physically alone , but I’m not going to say anything different. You’re not alone. You’re not alone with these feelings. You deserve to be here not because you achieved some goal but because you just fucking do. Give yourself a chance. ❤️
