One of my Life Experiences 🍋

I wanted to tell you all a story about my experience as a City Letter Carrier. For a few years now I wanted to start my career in the post office as a City Letter Carrier, so I’ve been applying for a position in the industry and as 2023 was coming to an end, I finally got that call i have been waiting for … super excited to start this journey, ready to commit myself to learning new things to be one of the best City Letter Carrier out there. I wanted to make a difference and interact with new people and make sure they felt safe with their mail in my hands.. I also felt like it was a great opportunity to have a great retirement and benefits for my three kids and myself. It was a dream come true. As a little less than a month was approaching, the unimaginable life event occurred.. I was sent to the hospital because my body went into shock, I suffer from very low iron deficiency and my Hemoglobin levels were at high risk and thankfully my husband was there through it all. I have been suffering from low energy and low iron deficiency for a very long time, this day was the day I realized that I had to take care of myself, not only for my children but for me… I received 2 blood transfusions and Ivs with that being said I sadly found out I have ovarian cancer which as being a total shock… I have been experiencing a lot of pain for years but never decided to look into it.. had low self esteem for years..

that same day I wasn’t able to contact my manager right away due to my circumstances and when I was able to, no one cared to listen and understand that I wasn’t able to show up at work.. two days later I received a letter in the mail saying I was fired for attendance. Now I’m left without a job and most importantly I can’t continue my Career path. The unfair world we live in.. it’s extremely sad. Always remember to be kind to people you never know what someone is battling with, be mindful of others.
