Step by step…⬇️

1️⃣ I prepped by removing the hardware from the drawers.

2️⃣ I used Citristrip to strip the black paint from the wood top and drawer fronts. Apply using a brush and cover with plastic wrap. Let sit for 8-12 hours. Remove using hot soapy water, steel wool/ bristle brush, and mineral spirits.

3️⃣ Let the stripped surfaces dry for at least a day, and the sand them using an orbital sander starting with the smallest grit and ending with the highest (example: 80,120,220)

4️⃣ I sealed the top and drawer fronts with water based Polyurethane (my fave is Varathane Triple Thick).

5️⃣ I primed with Zinsser BIN Shellac primer. I bought a random green paint sample and used that to paint the dresser (a sample was enough for two coats!)

6️⃣ Recycled knobs from in-laws’ kitchen

7️⃣ Wallpapered drawers with peel and stick wallpaper

voila! Major upgrade!
