Tips as the storm approaches ⬇️

🍋As the storm gets closer no matter if you are on city water or well water fill your tub and any other buckets you can with water. This will be used to flush your toilets. (If you have small children secure the bathroom doors we don’t want any accidental drownings)

🍋charge all phones and back up batteries

🍋If your car is parked under or near trees and you are able to move it to a more secure location do so. Those branches that break sure can fly far!

🍋If it’s safe to get to a store and it’s not sold out get some bread and PB&J. It will do in a pinch.

🍋Make sure you have plenty of drinking water on hand. If you have pitchers or empty jugs you can fill those to have back up water.

🍋Have your gas in your car full in case of a last minute evacuation

🍋We keep a go bag ready with snacks, clothes, water, important documents, back up batteries etc. just in case of a last minute evacuation. You don’t want to be scrambling in the wind and rain.

🍋Have a weather radio and backup batteries in it. If you do not have access you can download apps that will alert you. I have used storm shield for years and I love it. It is a small fee per month, under two dollars. So worth it.

🍋 If you are going to a shelter or another location let others know where you will be sheltering, especially neighbors. If something happens to your house they will know not to try and attempt a dangerous rescue because you are not there.
