As a #piercing girlie who had gotten over 13 piercings (and has had 3 of them closed) - I think I had gotten the hang of piercing #aftercare at this point.
To be honest, out of the 13 piercings that I have gotten - only 1 of them was done with a needle whereas the rest had been done with the piercing gun. I would like to just say that I DO NOT advocate for piercing guns and I am fully aware of the potential damage that they carry - but it is just a lot more convenient and cheaper as someone who gets impulsive piercings.
When I was in #korea, I chanced across this cute this store that was selling earrings and I saw that they had piercing service available! True to my nature as someone who gets impulsive piercings, I decided on the spot to get my conch pierced - as part of a special memory of Korea that I get to keep. It was a small store in the corner of the Noon Square Mall at #Myeongdong, and the owner could communicate really well in english so that made things easier.
The piercer who did my piercing recommended me to go get a antibiotic cream from any pharmacy store in korea, and apply it to the fresh piercing twice a day. And let me tell you, the antibiotic cream WORKED WONDERS for my piercing bumps.
My piercing started swelling and becoming really full with pus about two weeks after I got pierced - which really worried me as I was concerned that a keloid would start forming. I tried all sorts of items to help reduce the swelling and remove the pus (the aftercare spray from lovisa, even pimple patches) but it all did not help. It was then I remembered the antibiotic cream that I brought back from korea and started applying it daily that I started to see results. The piercing bump flatted after a couple of days and the pus dried up too.
I recently got my third pair of lobe piercings from lovisa and one of it started swelling too. I quickly used the cream again, and the swelling went down in two days.
I am not sure where we can get the same cream shown in the cover photo, but I think all antibiotic cream should work. Do give it a try if you are having issues with your piercings!
