What is Christian Veiling?

I have been on a journey of embracing my femininity and embracing what it means to be a woman of God. God created both man and woman. Though we may have different roles and strengths/weaknesses, we are equal because we both were created by God. Men though, were created in the image of God. So they directly represent being under God's authority, there are many examples in the Bible that showcase how God expects man to answer to him directly while women were created from man— we are bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh therefore veiling can be used symbolically to reflect being under the authority of God. It represents being in agreement that we are under the authority that is given to us through Jesus Christ. It is an act of humility not necessarily for modesty purposes. It is not about making sure your hair is covered but stating that you are covered by God. It is not a requirement but a choice. My first time veiling was a little intimidating and still can be bc no one else veils at my church and I don't like drawing attention to myself. Veiling is more commonly practiced by Catholics or Orthodox Christians which I am not, but it is something that God has put on my heart for a minute to do on Sundays.

Do you have to? Ask God. Is it something you feel convicted or led to do? Always listen to Holy Spirit and read 1 Corinthians 11 and judge for yourself.

Where can I get veils? Amazon, thrift stores, clothing stores, craft stores, or your closet you might already have some- you can use scarfs, shawls, fabric, depending on the size and length you want your veil to be.

How do you keep it on? You can use a cap or use bobby pins, a velvet headband, or hairclips.
