๐Ÿ“Neptune

๐Ÿ’ฐ Price: Shrimp scampi, $21.50++

Pretty sure Neptune is a stranger to none, finally tried their highly raved shrimp scampi pasta. I must say I wasnโ€™t a big fan of this dish :( While the shrimps were big and juicy, the flavouring of the dish wasnโ€™t my cup of tea. It was tangy and nothing much else, I got sick of it quite quickly.

๐Ÿ“3 meals a day

๐Ÿ’ฐ Price: Salted egg chicken rice, $7+

If youโ€™re a salted egg lover, itโ€™s imperative that you try 3 meals a dayโ€™s salted egg chicken rice. The chicken was tender and crispy, the salted egg sauce was more on the watery side but flavourful and had just the right amount of spice. The yolk was glorious and yolk-ing. Love that it came with prawn crackers too. ๐Ÿณ I definitely see why this has been touted by many as SGโ€™s best salted egg chicken rice place! Ordered the 3 layer milk tea and it was pretty good, albeit sweet, too.

๐Ÿ“Ami patisserie

๐Ÿ’ฐ Price: Burrata cheese and parma ham croissant, $18.40++

This was a real treat. The croissant was buttery and divinely crispy. The creamy burrata and salty parma ham were perfectly balanced by the tartness and bitterness of the vegetables and dressing. I savoured every bite. ๐Ÿคค Also really love the Japanese-influenced aesthetic and ambience of the place, itโ€™s nestled in a Kyoto-style townhouse and I even had window seats to a little garden. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿก

๐Ÿ“Abundance

๐Ÿ’ฐ Price: Braised pork rice ($12.90++) and peanut ice cream roll ($6.90++)

Visited this place because I saw so many raving reviews. Unfortunately it didnโ€™t live up to the hype for me. ๐Ÿ˜” The braised pork was tender but nothing outstanding in terms of flavour. Same for the peanut ice cream roll, I could probably easily replicate it at home. They were quite generous with the ice cream though. Overall, feel that itโ€™s quite unjustifiably pricey.

๐Ÿ“suukee coffee

๐Ÿ’ฐ Price: orh nee toast set with orh nee coffee ($8 ish)

I caught wind of this coffee shop that serves orh nee toast and drinks, as an orh nee lover I had to try it! I thought the orh nee toast was just ok, the orh nee flavour was not really strong and at some point I forgot I was eating orh nee.. The orh nee coffee however was a surprisingly pleasant combination. The orh nee flavour was stronger and perfectly balanced out the bitterness of the coffee. Overall still worth a try for orh nee lovers!
