destinations for more nature, less people

I don't know if you've noticed this, but it seems like there has been a huge spike of people enjoying the outdoors since the pandemic. And with good reason! But if you're someone who would rather be away from the crowds, it can be hard to find a good spot. Based on my travels across the US, these are the places I thought had stunning outdoor activities but minus the crowds.

Everyone is always surprised that Olympic National Park is on this list, but what people don't realize is that this is a HUGE park and with drive times, a lot of people are just there during the peak of the day, which is why I call it a 9-5 park. When I was living in Port Angeles I would drive up to Hurricane Ridge at 7am or out to Lake Crescent at 4pm and there would hardly be anyone around! If you want to take it one step further, enjoy the lesser know trails like Madison Creek to Glines Canyon or Ancient Groves.
