Pickpockets targeting tourists in Europe is nothing new, but you should absolutely be prepared on how to avoid ending up with a few less possessions. I like to wear a small crossbody and pull it around front and keep my hand on the top while in crowds and at tourist attractions. It doesn't sound like much, but pickpockets will choose easy targets so even this simple thing can make you less interesting to them.

The main thing is to be aware of your surroundings!
