surprising usa destinations for fall colors

There is nothing like Fall colors and crisp air! If you're in the USA, you have plenty of options for iconic spots to view the colors and I'd certainly recommend you make a trip out of it.

My surprising recommendation: northern new mexico! I didn't plan my trip around seeing Fall colors there, but I found there were spots that could rival the northeast! I'd highly recommend taking the High Road from Santa Fe to Taos to get some great fall color viewing opportunities.
