I think i've mentioned this before but I am not a huge routine person, I have always been more intuitive and gone with how I am feeling. While this works for me most of the time I have definitely learned the benefits of structure and creating a simple routine that I can stick to and still have a little but of wiggle room and choice.
Instead of giving myself a chronological check list I more give myself a list of non-negotiobles that are simple and effective for winding down and setting myself up for a great nights rest. So without further a do here is a night routine for my anti routine girlies :)
1. do your self care! brush your teeth, wash your face, take an everything shower.
2. drink some peppermint tea. I LOVEE peppermint tea and it is actually a natural muscle relaxant so it is perfect before bed. I love to take my magnesium supplement at this time too for double muscle relaxation
3. make a little list of what you need to get done the next day, this helps quiet my mind because now that what i need to do the next day is on paper i dont need to think about it for the rest of the night
4. give yourself time to decompress. I like to give myself at least 30 min but up to an hour and a half to do what ever i need to decompress. Some days this is a meditation or listening to music some days its mindlessly scrolling on tiktok. I know that isn't the BEST for before bed but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!
