When did you find your first gray hair?

I honestly can’t remember what I did two days ago but when I tell you I remember this day vividly, I mean it. I was 11 years old and in the 6th grade and out at recess with two other girls, one of the other girls pointed out my ONE silver hair and continuously made fun of me for it after that. I was really self-conscious of my gray hair after this experience for yearsssss to the point where I would pluck out my gray hairs but over time with self-confidence and self-awareness, I have learned to love my gray hair.

Gray hair is not something I will ever be able to avoid. Gray hair can be contributed from genes, my uncle was fully salt and pepper by the time he was 30, my mom has been fully gray since her early 20’s but has dyed her hair her entire life every couple weeks to cover them up.

I’m 28 now, and this is my current silver hair grow out! I’ve never dyed my hair before, ever. I’ve decided to allow myself to grow my natural silver hair and I’m loving the way it’s coming out so far. I’m learning more and more to embrace growing older and the transitions of life.
