We Said Screw Societal Norms and Got Married 💍

At 25 and 35, we got MARRIED! Most people thought I was too young to be marrying an older man, but guess what? Their opinions don’t matter!

I knew our love was stronger than anything I’ve ever been a part of before and it’s only grown stronger. My husband is the most selfless man I’ve ever met and we knew in our hearts that we were ready to commit to a lifetime together!

SO in addition to getting married “young,” we also said screw societal norms by eloping. It was a personal showing of our love, away from the pressures of a traditional wedding. We exchanged vows in a small chapel, with just our immediate family and it was incredible.

I’m not a huge fan of weddings for many reasons, but I think our society in recent years has gone crazy with wedding expectations. It’s all over social media, so the comparison game kicks in, people get stressed out and the focus is more on the event than the marriage.

Society often imposes certain expectations on us – when to get married, when to have children, and what a "perfect" life should look like. But we've learned to say "screw societal norms."

Our love story may not follow a conventional timeline, but it's uniquely ours. It's a story of choosing love and authenticity over expectations and I LOVE IT!
