THE BEST!! im a pretzel lover & these came out delishhh. these are a great snack alone or add cheese & dip in marinara for a lil pretzel-pizza dinner 🤩
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 1/4 tsp. instant yeast
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 3 3/4 - 4 cups all purpose flour
- coarse salt for topping
(baking soda bath)
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 9 cups water
1. whisk yeast into warm water & let sit for 1 minute.
2. whisk in salt, brown sugar, & melted butter. slowly add in 3 cups of flour; one cup at a time.
3. kneed the dough in a stand mixer for 5 minutes. if the dough is too sticky, add 1 tsp. flour at a time.
4. shape the dough into a ball & cover for 10 minutes.
5. preheat oven to 400°
6. cut dough into 1/3 cup sections.
7. roll the dough into long ropes. bring the ends together and twist them at the center, forming the pretzel shape.
8. bring 9 cups water & 1/2 cup baking soda to a boil. drop 1-2 pretzels at a time into the water for 20-30 seconds.
8. lift the pretzels out of the water & place on a baking sheet. add the salt
9. bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown
