Planning a trip and not sure where to start?

You want to travel somewhere, but you feel lost. 😫 What should you do first? Where do you even begin? WHY IS PLANNING A TRIP SO STRESSFUL? 😰

A lot of people don’t like to plan their travels, and while this is fine, you will lose out on getting the best deals and finding the best recommendations. 🛤 I’ve planned many trips for my friends and myself, and here are the tools 🛠 I use to make the experience better:

✈️ GOOGLE FLIGHTS

✅ USE IT FOR: Keeping track of flight prices before you grab the best deal 💵

Once you know where you want to go, use Google Flights to find the best time to travel. Google Flights is still the best search tool to find the best flights (including budget airlines and connecting flights), without marking up the prices like other flight aggregators.

🐇 HOPPER

✅ USE IT FOR: Flight promotions and a nice UI to book tickets 🤑

Hopper works similiar to Google Flights, but it is available as an app and allows you to book directly on it. Unlike other flight aggregators and Google Flights, you can get great discounts for certain periods. During their Summer Sale, I managed to snatch up US$50 discounds for flights that basically gave me free tickets from Switzerland to UK.

✅ USE IT FOR: Finding neighbourhoods that suit your travel 🏘

While most people are familiar with Airbnb, I use it for reasons other than merely booking accomodations. When you are in a large city like London or Rome, it can be difficult to decide which part of the city to stay in. Airbnb’s map is super useful in finding neighbourhoods that fit your budget and your expectations (e.g. Safety, food, transportation).

✅ USE IT FOR: Local recommendations 👍

Bored of generic recommendations online? Search up your travel city on Reddit and find what locals and other travellers recommend to get away from the usual touristy checklist. In my trips, I use Reddit exclusively to find the food I should try, the places I should visit and the things I should do. It makes your trips way more interesting, and often without the crowdedness of tourist itineraries.
