What?! There’s a Chipmunk Farm in Hokkaido?

I couldn’t believe when I chanced upon a chipmunk farm. 😝 It’s a small compound but we stayed about an hour inside just feeding and interacting with the chipmunks.

I highly recommend to purchase at least 1 packet of chipmunk food so that you will have close interactions with the chipmunks to capture really close up shots. 📸

When we were there, we were the only locals but the owner has prepared an instruction manual by drawing really cute animations to brief us on the rules and expectations.

Do wear covered shoes instead of sandals / slippers. Chipmunks are really small and fast creatures. They have little awareness of danger hence we heard that at least 15 were killed accidentally recently. You’ll be briefed to drag your feet instead of lifting up when walking as you may step on the chipmunks and kill it.
