Hii! I just wanna share with you guys how I got clear skin realistically and what a realistic result probably looks like. This is not meant to say that other methods don’t work, however, I do feel like this is very realistic in a way where an unavoidable busy schedule, normal to unhealthy diet, messed up sleeping schedule is taken into consideration.

Before I get into the tips, having faded blemishes and occasional pimples are ok! Many people think my skin is very clear and well if you really look at it I still have some inflammation, occasional pimples from my period and faded marks from my previous pimples. I realised that this is realistic, achievable and good enough. I also realised that glass skin or baby smooth skin does not define clear skin.

So onto my tips✨:

1. Don’t use too many products

Only use the essential ones! I used to use many different products like serums and toners, etc but they still weren’t solving my acne. So what I did was I just washed my face every single day in the morning and night with my face wash, literally that was it and it CLEARED MY PIMPLES. I know this wouldn’t be the best because it lacks some essentials and although it cleared my pimples my skin was dry😭 Which is why all you need to add is moisturiser to bring back moisture and sunscreen to protect you from the sun. For when pimples start popping up, get a product for spot treatment. If you want to start adding serums and stuff to your routine try experimenting them after you fix all the “bigger” issues with your skin. Plus, with less products you literally save so much time and your not so lazy to do all the steps!

2. Drink more water and get a straw cup!

I used to be so dehydrated and my problem was that I never really feel thirsty so I always forget to drink. When drinking bubble tea, starbucks etc, I started realising that even when its finished I would still keep taking a sip, especially when Im holding it! I figured that it was kind of like muscle memory or that I was automatically attracted to just keep sipping out of a straw cup. So I bought one for my water and I have been drinking much more ever since. Put it in-front of you on a desk or or anywhere accessible for your mouth to just move up to the straw without hands lol!

3. Try cutting down on dairy

This one is a tough one! I love dairy products. To be honest this one started only when i randomly got lactose intolerant a few months ago😂 When I stopped eating dairy products the inflammation that was on my cheek for like 5 years just left like that. That was when I started taking “dairy can give you pimples” seriously😂. My eating habits are normal, I eat instant noodles, veggies once in awhile, oily food, really I just eat anything I want but I try to avoid dairy when I cook or order food. Of course eating healthy would be better for your skin but I would think that not many people like to do it cause its really hard to do so, especially if you are very busy or just love eating and trying new food. My advice would be to try cutting down on dairy or find what food particularly makes you break out and try to avoid just that when eating. This does not mean you are fully throwing it out of your diet, you can still eat it once in awhile. An example would be I try to avoid dairy but I do still eat ice cream but maybe not milk flavoured ice cream cause extra dairy(?) lol, or I would cook with almond milk instead of cows milk. So just eat your triggers in moderation.

4. Keep your hair away from your face

I like to do it more when Im trying to clear my pimples. If you have an oily scalp this might be helpful for you. Just use bobby pins or hair clips to make it a cute hairstyle!

5. Go to the dermatologist

The biggest help for me was going to the dermatologist. My dermatologist could easily tell what was going on with my skin. What I thought was the source of my acne my dermatologist explained why it probably was not the case and suggested a different reason for my acne. If someone asked me how I get clear skin, the first thing I would tell them is to go to the dermatologist. This is because a dermatologist expertises in these and will probably give you the most accurate recommendation for your specific case! They could answer all your questions too. I understand that it is quite expensive, but it could be an investment! Instead of spending on many products that may or may not work, one visit to the dermatologist may solve your issues. Also, please make sure to find a good dermatologist!

My dermatologist is HM Liew Skin and Laser Clinic at Gleneagles. So far her recommendation has solved me and my sister’s acne issue very effectively after just one consult. In my case, I got prescribed face wash, moisturiser and the gels and creams I use for spot treatment. The face wash and moisturiser seen in the picture can be bought online or in Malaysia (much cheaper). However, if im not wrong the cream and gel needs to be prescribed. Keep in mind that you may be prescribed other stuff according to your skin condition. Now for the cons! The consult is at least 100+, my lastest visit I paid $108 (just for the consult). The medicine may cost you a lot as well. (one of them was $50 ish) So with other prescriptions it may be over $100. However, in the long run you can get things like the face wash and moisturiser else where for a cheaper price. Lastly, the doctor is AMAZING but the staff in the clinic are quite rude and you might have to wait awhile despite an appointment, which might piss you off cause I know I have been pissed off HAHA💀
