Just about every woman I coach through their hormone health issues asks me.. “Do I have to give up coffee?!”
And I get it. Because SO many providers say it’s necessary.
…. But is it?🤔
Coffee can be a powerful tool (for healing and also just our mental well being), IF… and notice I said IF, it is used correctly.
It is a nutrient powerhouse filled with magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, manganese, niacin, riboflavin, & pantothenic acid.
It is also a metabolic stimulator by helping the body use glucose faster which makes this a great tool - with the caveat that you are properly nourished.
If you are going into your coffee consumption depleted (aka with no breakfast!!), it can stimulate cortisol & adrenaline which can dehydrate and steal minerals, causing the typical coffee “symptoms”↙️
Anxiety, jitters, hypoglycemia, and more.
💡How can we fix this? I hinted a few things before - through NOURISHMENT beforehand, drinking outside of high stress times, and pairing with fat & protein to stabilize blood sugar!
