Hot Take: Getting Married Young 💍

Ok, so this whole idea of putting love on the backburner for a career is not for me... I’ve seen it become a zeitgeist for millenials/gen z and in my opinion, it has produced a lot of loneliness and sadness!

Obviously I can’t speak for everyone, but in general I do believe that getting married young is an amazing choice. My husband and I got married at 23 and 24 and the results of that have been so beautiful.

First of all, neither of us were settled in our careers or financially “ready” to get married. I had JUST quit my full time 9-6 corporate job to pursue content creation and he had JUST quit real estate to pursue starting his own luxury auto detailing company. We were broke and in love! However, I can see that starting our life together has propelled us so far in our respective careers. He has helped me shoot, strategize, and monetize my media and I’ve helped him brand, manage, and build his company as well. We both encourage and hold each other accountable. So we didn’t have to choose between careers or love. We choose each other and that means helping each other succeed in all areas of life.

We have also been able to really enjoy life- traveling, friends, adopting a dog, etc., without the pressures of having kids anytime soon. Since we got married young we do feel a lot more free to enjoy each other before starting our family!

So if you’ve been putting love on the backburner or feeling like you need to make your money before letting someone else into your life, this is me encouraging you to get back out there and make finding a life partner who will HELP you accomplish your goals a priority.
