In Vietnam, coffee has long overtaken its nature of simple drink. Here are some of the most famous slash (some can be quite) exotic types of coffee you can try while traveling across this country. Better yet, don't have to go to fancy cafe to enjoy these drinks! 😆💯
🍳☕ EGG COFFEE
This is a super popular beverage in Hanoi! It's the kind of creamy meringue egg foam on top of the traditional black coffee. You can find egg coffee almost everywhere in Hanoi but Cafe Giang is the original place that invented this drink, back in 1940s.
Recommended places:
39 P. Nguyễn Hữu Huân, Lý Thái Tổ, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, Vietnam
Address: 13 P. Đinh Tiên Hoàng, Hàng Trống, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, Vietnam
🥥☕ COCONUT COFFEE
Coconut coffee is basically black coffee mixed with condensed milk and coconut milk and ice blended. I'm not sure whether this coffee is originally made by the famous Cong Caphe - a chain of boho coffee shops across the country. However, it's definitely become a favourite among the youth for the past few years.
Recommended places:
📍Cộng Cà Phê
Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Da Lat and many other cities in Vietnam
🧂☕ SALT COFFEE
Salt coffee originated in the ancient city of Hue, a middle part of Vietnam, and this city is one of the most famous places to buy and drink salt coffee. Some even say it is a morning ritual for many local people.
Recommended places:
📍Anywhere in Hue city
☕ BLACK or MILK COFFE
Need no further introduction, Vietnamese black coffee is what it says it is - a super-concentrated drip coffee. However, keep in mind that Vietnamese traditional black coffee is super strong and fairly bitter which could be a challenge to even the most coffee-head. Hence, you may choose to mix it with either sugar or sweetened condensed milk and a generous amount of ice to make it more "drinkable"
Recommended places:
📍Anywhere, especially street cafe shops
