Do you ever feel like you’re living the same day over and over again, maybe it’s getting boring or you’re not finding any joy in the mundane? Maybe you’re caught up in a pile of work and commitments that have to get done, or maybe you just feel like your energy stores are running down all the time?

Sometimes I feel like we’re all feeling the same way, we’re just not talking about it. Maybe as a society we’re trying to hide the fact that we’re not okay, or struggling, in order to withstand our reputation towards the people around us.

Just wanted to put this out here, if you’re feeling rundown or burnout or just not feeling your best, I’m here with you and it’s 100% okay and normal to feel this way.

Lately I’ve been running around 5 different places to teach classes in 3 different disciplines — yoga, fitness and pilates. While it looks so shiny and fancy and could very well be a badge of honour that I’m “doing sooo much”, I’m honestly struggling to hold the fort up and sometimes, well, very often, question my life decisions 🥲. I know how lucky I am to be in a position where I get to do so much, and lucky to have students and studios have me teach, but sometimes it hits the point where I lose myself in it all. As an introvert who needs alone time to recharge and immerse in activities alone, I’ve realised that group classes and being around stimulating environments really drain my energy, and I’m currently in reflective mode as I make changes and pivots in my life.

If you’re feeling the same way as me, hiiii I feel you 💗 here are some things that have been keeping me happy

🦋 EARLY NIGHTS

Getting a good night sleep, especially the hours before midnight (for me) have made the difference. I find that my body clock will naturally wake me up at 5:30/6am (hello earlybirds!), so the more sleep I can clock in before midnight, the better I’ll feel in the morning.

🦋 LIFE AUDIT

Okay this one is the real deal. When you’re burnout, you need to ask yourself what drains you, and what energises you. You need to get so clear with how things are making you feel. Do you love showing up, or do you dread it? Does time seem to pass when you’re there or are you constantly checking the clock? Once you know this, you can make decisions that will move you in the right direction

🦋 MAKE CHANGE

Taking that step to make a change shows your growth and commitment to get yourself out of a burnout state. Whether it’s speaking to someone about how you feel, or cutting down on plans or commitments, the right people in your life will understand and try their best to help you. Remember without change, nothing changes.

🦋 TRUST, AFFIRMATIONS & SELF TALK

Some decisions can be tough, but trusting the process and facing uncertainty and knowing that things will be better and everything will be okay have helped me immensely as I navigate through my own pivots and change. Your self talk matters sooooo much!!

Good luck guys!! Getting out of burnout is going to be such a rewarding feeling. Remember you were never made to be a machine, you were never made to work 24/7 or have things pile on you. Your worth is more than your work 🤎
