I’m new to Lemon8

I’m just trying to see what sticks in terms of new hobby’s / interests 🤭 so you might see a lot of THAT here , sorry in advance !

NOW, For the main topic we’re all (three of us) here for, me, you & your adorable baby waiting for their close up !

I bought my supplies at my local Walmart & DOLLAR TREE 🌳

*fake leaves 🍂 : Dollar Tree $1.25 each

(about 4 or 5 bunches, you can honestly do it with less)

Cut off all the leaves from the bunches until you have single leaves and just scatter them across your sheet you lay out

*Pumpkin 🎃 : Walmart $5 bucks

(It really depends on the weight you get)

Get a relatively big pumpkin that you know will fit your baby and then some, make sure you have wiggle room - literally lol you don’t want too tight of a squeeze for your baby, my baby was almost 5 months in the photo above and weighed about 14 or 15 pounds

*Pumpkin Carving Kit: Walmart $8 bucks

(There was an option to get a $11 dollar one, but this one worked great for me, it was just for a one time use thing, definitely would not be able to use it again, the blade part got bent after a while of using it, thankfully I was pretty much done with what I needed to carve by this point & I was using elbow grease on it 😅)

*White Bedsheet : $ Free 99

(I already had this item at home, it’s what I used as the backdrop) I used chip clips to hold the sheet up on the sides, it was pretty sturdy didn’t fall off, I made sure to pull the sheet a bit and place the pumpkin closer to the front edge of the sheet.

TIPS:

-When creating the holes for my babies legs I started small (always remember you can make it bigger, you can’t make it smaller if you were to start with big holes). This part is a bit tedious because I had to keep eyeballing roughly how big my babies thighs were compared to the holes and then make them slightly bigger

-Cut the back part of your pumpkin where your babies back will be leaning on slightly lower so that it’s easier to take your baby out quickly when they get fussy(because they DO get fussy in the pumpkin they don’t like it very much for too long) 🥴 this way it’s easier to slide them out when needing to

-When removing the seeds (guts) from the pumpkin I also spent a good amount of time really digging inside and carving the pumpkin to make it as thin and roomy inside as possible, using the scooper I just kept scraping away at the insides and thinning it out, it was easier to move the pumpkin around this way, and also made it easier to carve out the holes for the legs, not to mention roomier for my baby !

-For the little leaf I placed on my babies hair: I got it to stay by getting a bit of double sided tape on the leaf and placing it gently on the side of my babies head 🤭 it was actually pretty easy to remove and my baby did not notice at all or seemed to be bothered by it

And there you have it, a very simple, very cute way to do a little mini shoot with your baby✨ you’re ready to grab your camera and get creative !
