Hey lemon8, aren't you glad it's finally the weekend!?😁
Today, I'll be sharing a post on things to do in Nagoya - thought it'll be helpful to share based on my experience! 😆 Leading up to my trip, I tried to browse on Lemon8 and there wasn't alot of content, so I hope this post can shed some insight for those planning a trip to Nagoya ^_^
----------------------------------------------------
Background: Nagoya is mainly known for being a manufacturing and shipping hub, and thus you'll find that most people are in Nagoya for a stopover (be it businessmen or tourists) as it is pretty central in Japan. But, the good part is that there are many affordable hotels!
Due to the limited tourist activities, I would recommend a 2D1N stopover at Nagoya!
Things to do ✨:
1️⃣ Ghibli Warehouse & Park
• For all Studio Ghibli Fans, this is definitely a MUST see. Honestly this was one of the reasons I came to Nagoya, and I'm glad I did!
• The park features many attractions and exhibits based on famous Ghibli films, and most importantly the merch!!!!! (Will be sharing a post on this soon so stay tuned)
2️⃣ Osu Shopping District
• This is Nagoya's very own shopping district, and it was so interesting to visit! Definitely don't expect the Tokyo/Kyoto level of shopping, but it is still good to explore the shops~
• There are also many anime stores nearby selling figurines!! 🫢
3️⃣ Day trip to Shirakawago/ Takayama
• If you read my previous post on taking a day trip to these places, you'll see that I highly recommend booking the Klook day tour that allows you to explore these beautiful towns in just one day!!!
• It's really perfect as you save on the hassle of planning your own transport there
4️⃣ Try what they're known for - Unagi
• Nagoya is known for its Hitsumabushi (grilled eel coated in a sweet unagi sauce, served over rice in a wooden container)
• There are 3 different ways you should be eating this - with the eel, with condiments, and lastly with dashi. The whole experience was mind blowing and it was one of the best meals i had in Japan 🥹

If you have some spare time and plan to visit Shirakawago, I would recommend having this itinerary into your plans to save you some trouble !! ☺️
