UNESCO heritage site🇮🇹: Cinque Terre AKA 5 towns! 😍

When it comes to Italy, most would visit places like Milan, Venice, Rome and Florence. While those places indeed have their own charm, you have to check out Cinque Terre, which is located along the coast! 😍

📝 Background Info:

Cinque Terre is a cluster of seaside villages along the Italian coastline. In each of these 5 towns, they each have their own charm (Refer to pics for deets). Cinque Terre is well known for its beautiful coastline, stunning beaches and colourful houses built up in these cliffs! With that, Cinque Terre makes for a great place for tourists and locals to hike and enjoy the scenery✨ However, I'd recommend visiting this place only during summer to fully enjoy its beauty!

🚶‍♂️Getting Around:

1️⃣ Depending on your preference, you may choose to hike between towns. The most famous and easiest hike is between Monterosso and Vernazza, which takes about 1.5 hours. Between each of these town, there are unique hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty, so be sure to do some research to be well- prepared! Also, each trail is chargeable. But if you purchase the Cinque Terre Day Pass, you will be able to access all of them 👏🏻

2️⃣ Alternatively, if you're lazy like me, or want to avoid the hot summer sun, the train is the best option. It takes about 2-3 minutes between each town, and the train comes at good intervals 😄 You can even choose to mix&match your travel route (e.g hiking from Monterosso to Vernazza, and taking the train subsequently between the rest of the towns)

✨Highlights:

1️⃣ Visiting ALL 5 towns

If you plan properly and set off before lunch, you'll be able to explore all 5 towns! You'll see that each town has its own unique beauty and charm😌 Definitely don't give any one of them a miss! Imo, Corniglia (Town #3 ) was the most "average" of them, but it was still nice to see the vineyards in that area!

2️⃣ Visit the beaches 🌊

Unfortunately, I did not come prepared in proper beach attire. However, when I visited the beaches, I immediately regretted my decision ☹️ You'll see that there are many locals themselves who come to Cinque Terre just to enjoy! So don't give this a miss, especially during summer!

3️⃣ Watch the Sunset in Riomaggiore

Once you have finished exploring all towns, you'll most likely be having your dinner in Riomaggiore, the 5th town. Be sure to be there for the sunset, which you can watch from the rocks along the coastline! Literally almost everyone would be heading towards that direction to watch the sunset, so just follow the crowd 🤣
