Mykonos, Greece is one of the most iconic summer destinations in Europe. In this travel guide, I cover my favorite places to stay, explore, drink + dine in Mykonos.
🛌 Stay:
We rented a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom Airbnb in Little Venice for about $300/night.
The host was Annita excellent and so helpful, I loved the balcony with sunset views, and the location was convenient for walking around Mykonos Town. However, it would have been nice to have a living room, which our apartment didn’t have.
Other hotel options are Mykonos Bay Hotel, which starts at $300+ per night.
It’s been recently renovated and has a beautiful pool. It’s on a small beach.
Another good option is Acrogiali Beach Hotel, which starts at $190/night.
It’s a mid-range hotel on the best beach in Mykonos.
🗺️ Explore: Mykonos Town is walkable and full of shops, restaurants, bars and sights to see. Don’t skip the windmill shaped houses - you’ll want to walk by because they are so unique.
If you want to hit the beach, head to Platis Gialos for a chill beach, or Paradise or Super Paradise Beach for party beaches.
Although Mykonos is known as a party destination, I like to keep things more relaxed so I didn’t hit any party beach clubs or night clubs.
🍹 Drink: Negrita is a popular cocktail bar in the Little Venice area that turns into a dance party after sunset.
Cocktails start at €18 and they often have a minimum spend of €80+ per person in peak season. They don’t serve food.
🥗 Dine: Mykonos is expensive so a more affordable dinner option is Pepper Mykonos. They serve souvlaki and other casual Greek food made with high quality ingredients.
We ordered a Greek salad for €11 which was fresh but a little small. The chicken souvlaki pitas were €9 and so savory and satisfying. And a Fix Beer was €6.50 and paired so well with our casual dinner.
📒Notes: Overall, I love Mykonos as a travel destination. If you like to keep things low key, I recommend visiting in May or September. If you’re coming to party at the famous Mykonos clubs, you’ll want to visit in July or August.
