Disclaimer!!! I don’t care for rude comments, so waste your time with your twinkle fingers if ya have to 🤠.

Please excuse my eye, my daughter hit me with her damn excavator 😭 Excuse the dry patches around my nose & mouth area. Also excuse my very cracked phone hahaha.

Lets get very up close and very personal 😳. Its kinda scary opening up to the internet full of strangers ONCE AGAIN.. But I want this to be real as it can get. An estimated of 5 to 6 million women struggle with PCOS in the U.S as of 2022!

A little background on myself, I am Mexican so my family does carry that thickness gene in hair (expect for my bald headed ass lol, thats another journey).

I am also on the overweight side. I am 5’1 - 185lbs. I am prone to being pre-diabetic, due to my mom, which can also be the cause of my facial hair, along with diets & lack of’s.

I started shaving my face when I was in the 4th grade (I’m 22). Very young I know, I did hide it from my mother up till 8th grade. So don’t come for my mama haha. I don’t know i’ve always hated hair, every where, legs, arms, back, chest, hands, toes! Anywhere I would find hair I would shave off.

I started to regret shaving my face entering High School. It was very hard to maintain 5 days a week straight without getting razor bumps. In 2015 was when threading was starting to become trendy, so I would practice on my face. I got tired of threading because I would cut my fingers and/or it was just too much! I would always shave it off because it was the quickest way to get rid of & have a smooth face within minutes. Throughout the years it just kept getting thicker and thicker.

When I was going down the wrong path, I did have people in prison thread my face weekly. My face would be irritated, bumpy, red & hot by the time we locked down. So its been tough.

NOW I HAVENT BEEN TO A DOCTOR TO SEE IF I HAVE PCOS.

I really should though, maybe my hormones are off balance etc. I just see it as I have been shaving for so long, it’s bound to get thicker & thicker. But I am still coping through this imperfection of mine.

MY STEPS:

1. Start with a clean face, no lotion no nothing! Pat dry.

2. Tweeze as many as I can see & get.

3. Whatever I couldn’t get I go ahead with some thread to clean up all the ‘peach fuzz’. Threading is a lot quicker, only reason why I do it after tweezing is because sometimes the thread will only rip off the top of the hair leaving the root in. Im not perfect at threading so I use tweezers first. Especially cause of how thick my hair is.

4. (Optional) If there’s still hair that I can feel or see I will finally go in with a razor.

5. Moisturize! Slap on a hydrating face mask & relax!

Again these are my steps, this is what works for me. With this method my facial hair takes about 3-4 days to fully pop back out again, and they do come in a little bit thinner.

I do want to do laser removal, I just haven’t had time to find a place I like. Also time, I haven’t been able to book an appointment lol. Ive tried waxing, it doesn’t work for me unfortunately.

Everyone deals with PCOS/ thick hair differently I hope this post helps someone. 💕🫶🏻 Leave a comment☺️.
