I spent 5 days working in my office in Tanjong Pagar last week. This meant eating out in the area for 5 days straight after 2+ years of wfh/hybrid work arrangements. As much as I look forward to having a good midday break and a yummy lunch, I really had to pick my brain everyday to find something that was:
1. Below $15 (my budget for lunch)
2. Short enough queues (Iβll wait for 10 min max)
3. Walking distance from Tanjong Pagar MRT
4. Somewhere air conditioned if possible
All my lunches last week were pretty solid so here are my recommendations if you are also working in Tanjong Pagar!
π€€ Bara Food Tanjong Pagar
Indonesian food at Icon Village. I had the Ayam Bakar which was very tender. The rice was also quite special as it was wrapped in banana leaf.
π€€ Ah Lock & Co
Hakka rice bowl and peanut min jiang kueh at Tanjong Pagar MRT (Guoco Tower) itself. My go-to especially when it rains as this is completely sheltered from my office. The rice bowl is also relatively healthy :)
π€€ Jing Hua Xiao Chi
Chinese food at Neil Road. I had lunch with a few colleagues so we decided to share some dishes. Our favourite is the Chinese pizza!!
π€€ Dumpling Darlings
Their lunchtime set is always a good option. Iβm sure the rest of CBD would agree as it is always crowded! Iβm only here for lunch if I leave the office before 12pm.
π€€ Spinach soup at International Plaza
I wanted to end off the week with something healthier. My go-to would be the chicken meatball spinach soup at International Plaza. The portion is decent and you wonβt get a food coma!!
