My Favorite Grocery Store Snacks

Coming from an ingredient family, it took me a while once I was on my own to figure out what snacks work best with my lifestyle. Here are a few things I always pick up when I go to the grocery store.

1.) Shrimp chips: These have an amazing texture and I love the savory taste. I prefer to snack on something like this when I’m watching tv. Because they have such a unique taste it’s easier to stop before I over eat than it is with a blander snack food.

2.) Kind Bars: Everyone needs a granola bar they can pick up when they are on the go. Nature valley was too crumbly and Nutri Grain squished easily. These Kind bars are perfect because they keep their shape even at the bottom of a backpack and they taste great. I’m really liking this coconut flavor.

3.) Popcorn: Popcorn is the most versatile snack food. Sometimes I’ll make a savory popcorn with grated parmesan and dill. Sometimes I go the sweet route with chocolate chips and pretzles. There’s a million possibilities.

4.) Hint of Lime Tostitos: Having tortilla chips in your house at all times is a must. It’s perfect for making nachos for dinner or serving as a side with lunch. My problem is I love dip way too much and whenever I have tortilla chips in the house, I want to run out and get queso. These lime chips, however, are flavorful enough that I love them plain.

5.) Goldfish: They are cute, they are tasty, and they are easy to pack in a zip lock or little container. I love to bring a bag of these when I am writing or studying. The ultimate low-effort, high yumminess snack.
