Hi Everyone! Here is my review of Frankie and Fern’s, which I was excited to try after seeing it on TikTok!
I went on a weekend and made a reservation beforehand because I knew the line would be long. Note that they charge 10 SGD per person for no-shows.
Ambience: The ambience at the cafe was great, as it is located on the rooftop. I love that their furniture is mainly wood, giving the whole place a Muji aesthetic with a dash of Bali vibes. Despite the crowd, the tables were spaced out well, and I could still hear my friends, which is important if you wish to book the place for a gathering.
Food: We ordered 4 mains, 4 drinks, and 3 desserts to share, totaling 160.66 SGD.
Frankie’s Breakfast: The portion was huge and definitely shareable. I recommend this if you are not a big eater and want to try one of their signature dishes with your friends. It was similar to other cafe breakfast dishes.
Woodfired Chicken: The meat was tender and delicious. This was our favourite main dish. The portion was acceptable.
Truffle Fries: Nothing special; we ordered it because it’s a universal sharing dish.
Sourdough and Almond Hummus: An interesting main dish since I haven’t come across something similar in other cafes. The portion was smaller compared to the other two mains.
Drinks: 2 Iced White, 1 Latte, 1 Black.
I’m not a huge coffee fan, so I can’t comment much on the quality, but it was acceptable for cafe standards.
Desserts:
Seasonal Sliced Cake, Yuzu: Left no impression on us.
Granny Apple Pie: The best dessert we had among the three.
Banana Walnut: Slightly dry.
Final Verdict: When I go to cafes, I have low expectations for food because my main purpose is to find a nice place to chill with friends and enjoy the vibes. For me, Frankie and Fern’s fits this category. Overall, I wouldn't go back unless my other friends would like to visit.
