IT ENDS WITH US HONEST REVIEW 🚨*SPOILER ALERT*🚨

Before you begin reading this, I will be comparing the book to the movie so if you don’t want any spillers .. I’d come back later :)

I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while! From the second I found out this was going to be made into a movie I thought to myself “maybe it’ll make me think it’s better!” Because as I had previously mentioned… I wasn’t as fond of this book as every single other person seemed to have been! And I felt so weird about not being able to agree over how “great” it was!

I went to see the movie alone today and overall, I really enjoyed it! They obviously left out some details for .. I’m assuming length purposes. It probably would’ve lasted 5 hours if every detail was captured. For example:

📖: they left out entire premise of Lily having her own apartment. It seemed as though she lived with her mom and just immediately moved in with Ryle as soon as they began dating

📖: BIBS is actually called Roots in the movie. They tie it back to how Young Altas and Lily did some gardening and whatnot and Lily told Atlas “the root is the strongest part of the plant”. Which leads to ⬇️

📖: The magnet that Atlas give Lily that says Better In Boston didn’t exist in the movie! So the scene in the book where Ryle get angry and pushes Lily down the stairs isn’t caused by the magnet. Instead it’s caused my a tattoo Lily has of a heart that symbolizes a heart Atlas carved out of an oak tree!

📖: Their quick little wedding isn’t as showcased. In the book they went to Vegas and all those details weren’t spoken about or really visualized. All we saw was that Marshall officiated 🤔

📖: When Lily fled from Ryle and stayed at Atlas’, she never learned that his fake girlfriend wasn’t a thing. And that’s because his friends weren’t written into the movie. So those scenes were rather quick!

There were more but this is getting long! Overall the movie was really good. Blake’s acting was so good! I personally didn’t cry but after the movie, I did see many girls with tears running down their faces so it def hit home for some!
