🇫🇷 Colmar - France’s Fairytale Town

Colmar is a small town in the Alsace region, where France meets Germany.

You can reach Colmar in about 2.5 hours from Paris, or in about 2 hours from Zurich. I did a half day trip here from Zurich.

It’s just a 35 min ride from Strasbourg, so if you’re planning to visit both places, it’s easily doable in the same day. Read my review of Strasboug here

There isn’t a lot to do around here, but what I really like are the cute looking houses around the town, and it’s nice to take a stroll (or a boat ride) along Petit Venice, the river that runs through the town.

If you come around Christmas time, there’s Christmas markets and nice lights at night.

Colmar is a foodie haven with lots of restaurants serving Alsatian cuisine, or pop over to the Marché Couvert Colmar in the middle of the town, which is a market selling fresh produce.
