Fun things to do when you’re stationed in Norfolk Virginia 🏝️

1. Fishing 🎣

Whether it’s saltwater or freshwater, there are all kinds of fishing opportunities in Norfolk Virginia. You can buy a kayak and fish the inlets or there are plenty of charters around to saltwater fish. Or you can just grab a pole and fish from the shore, whatever your style, there are plenty of fish to be caught 🐠

2 skiing ⛷️

In the winter, you can take a trip out to Evergreen resort and go skiing or snowboarding. Whichever you prefer. It’s a great time for everyone!

3. Botanical gardens 🌸

In the spring the botanical gardens is absolutely stunning and in the winter they decorate it with Christmas lights and it’s absolutely amazing! 🎄

4. Festivals 🎈

There are literally so many festivals that happen here! Beer, festivals, wine, festivals taco festivals, you name it there is a festival for it!

5. Greenbrier farm 🐔

There are all kinds of local farms in the area! In the fall they have pumpkin patches 🎃 with hay rides, bouncy houses, and petting farms for the kiddos! During Halloween, they’ll have corn mazes and haunted houses 👻 when they’re in season, they have strawberry fields where you can pick your own strawberries 🍓 it’s the best!

7. Camping 🏕️

There are all sorts of fun places to camp and hike in the area! First Landing State Park is a really big one that is close by or you can go further out to Shenandoah national park 🌲

8. Chrysler Hall 🎭

They always have some kind of show happening over at Chrysler Hall whether it’s a comedian or play or an orchestra they’ll have it there! They also have hockey games there, Go Admirals!

9. Breweries 🍺

There are so many local breweries there, and each one has its flare. You could spend an entire summer just trying out the different breweries! So, if you’re a beer fan, you’ve definitely landed in the right spot. If you’re more of a wine person, 🍷 just an hour drive and you’ll be in Williamsburg where they have tons of wineries I went there every year for my birthday to celebrate 🎉
