FIRST TIME INTERN? Here are some tips!

I just completed my first internship this year, and i must say I really grown a lot during my internship. I was definitely blessed to have a really supportive team and supervisor but here are some tips I wish I knew from the start!

1. Don’t be afraid! 🥹

As an intern it is common to be afraid of what to do or not knowing what to ask but take this as a learning opportunity and always ask your colleagues for help so that you can complete your tasks smoothly. Another thing that helps, is building strong bonds with your colleagues! If you are comfortable with them, seeking help would be easier for you!

2. Keep an organiser 📝

I organised all my tasks in notions and kept a to-do list, this way it was easier for me to track what needs to be done and the details of each task!

3. Ask for check - ins with your supervisor 🍃

It’s good to have mini meet ups with your supervisor to find out what you have been doing well and what you could improve on. They also would be able to help you plan your future career goals!

4. Set aside time to rest and don’t think about work after working hours ⏰

I used to think about work after working hours and even try to complete them during my weekends because I was scared I would not have enough time. I strongly encourage you to rest after work and during weekends turn off your work notifications so that you will not be tempted to work. Just think of it as “it is tmr’s problem’
