You would not know I battle with PTSD

I’ve spoken about my son who has congenital heart disease.

As most of you know , he has had three surgeries since he was ten days old .

Due to how complex his condition is, when born my son was transferred to the ICU .

I’ve seen my son go through so much , that I remember feeling like the whole world was closing in on me as I watched the fear in his eyes leaving my sight to go through a life threatening procedure multiple times .

I still hear the beeps, and flashbacks of the icu .

Through all that I’ve watched , it has changed me into a different person, a different mother.

I feel like a nurse,doctor,social worker and more due to all the experiences I’ve had on this journey raising my son with congenital heart disease.

The down side to this journey is the changes in your brain after you’ve been through the worst experience any parent would not want to go through.
