Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is not just about being hypermobile (not the same as flexibility)! ✨

hEDS’s diagnostic criteria has a long list of requirements, I luring:

• Skin Hyperextensibility (stretching further than 1.5 cm)

• Heel Papules (“Bubbles” that appear under your skin around your heels on your feet)

• Atrophic Scarring (Scarring that looks like cigarette paper)

All among other criteria, including having comorbidities such as POTS, MCAS, and/or Gastroparesis if you’re being considered for a differential diagnosis. You can find the diagnostic criteria list on the EDS Society’s website. Remember that this should be more as a guide than a specific list, and is up to the discretion of your doctor whether or not to diagnose you with hEDS!
