We’ve all heard about postpartum depression, but what about postpartum anxiety? It’s real, and it’s tough. If you’re constantly worrying, feeling overwhelmed, or having racing thoughts that won’t let you relax, you’re not alone, Mama. 💛

⭐️ Here’s what postpartum anxiety can look like (from someone who’s been there):

👉🏻 Constantly checking on baby (even when they’re sound asleep).

👉🏻 Choosing not to sleep because of the fear of something happening while you’re dreaming.

👉🏻 Obsessing over small details—“Did I sterilize the bottle enough?” “Did I miss something?”

👉🏻 Feeling like your mind is running at 100 mph, even when you’re physically exhausted.

👉🏻 Struggling to relax, even during quiet moments.

👉🏻 Avoiding certain activities or people because of “what if” fears.

⭐️ Helpful Tips That Worked for Me:

1️⃣ Breathe

I know, I hate being one of those people that say this and it sounds too simple, but deep breathing exercises helped calm my mind. Try inhaling for 4 seconds, holding for 4, and exhaling for 4. Do it a few times until your mind settles. 🌬️

2️⃣ Get Outside

Fresh air and a change of scenery did wonders. A quick walk, even if it’s around the block, can clear your head and lift your mood. 🌿

3️⃣ Limit Social Media

It’s hard, but scrolling through “perfect” mom accounts can sometimes add to the anxiety. Give yourself permission to step away. 🙅‍♀️

4️⃣ Talk to Someone You Trust

Whether it’s your partner, a friend, or another mom, opening up about how you’re feeling can make a huge difference. You don’t have to carry it alone. 💛

5️⃣ Self-Care is NOT Selfish

Yes, you deserve time to take care of you. Even if it’s just 10 minutes of alone time in the shower or reading a few pages of a book, take that break. 🛁

⭐️ When It’s Time to Talk to a Professional, It’s totally okay to ask for help when:

👉🏻 Your anxiety is affecting your ability to care for your baby or yourself.

👉🏻 You’re losing sleep, even when baby sleeps, because your mind is racing.

👉🏻 You’re constantly feeling on edge or panicked.

👉🏻 It’s hard to enjoy your day-to-day life because of worry.

Seeking professional help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a sign of strength. Postpartum anxiety is common, but you don’t have to go through it alone. There’s help out there, whether through therapy, counseling, or support groups. 🤍
